25th September 1968 – John Richard Worsfold is born in Subiaco, Western Australia.

1985 – Worsfold graduates from South Fremantle Senior High School.  He represents WA in the Teal Cup that season. 

1986 – After spending two weeks training at Essendon under Kevin Sheedy, Worsfold makes his debut for South Fremantle playing 19 games in his first year. 

October 1986 – Worsfold is named in the West Coast Eagles’ squad for its first season in the VFL. 

18th April 1987 – In round four, Worsfold plays his first game for the Eagles, picking up 12 possessions in an 87-point loss to Carlton.  He finishes the season with 11 games under his belt. 

1988 – In just his second year, Worsfold wins the Eagles Best and Fairest award.

1991 – Worsfold is appointed Captain and leads the side to the Grand Final.

1992 – After the disappointment of 12 months earlier, Worsfold helps the side go one better, winning the Grand Final with a 28-point victory against Geelong. 

1993 – Worsfold is named Best Clubman.  He picks up the award again in 1998.

1994 – Worsfold leads the Eagles to another premiership, again against the Cats.   This time the margin is 80 points.

1996 – Worsfold is named on the half back flank in the Eagles Team of the Decade.  He is named in the same position for the 20 and 25-year teams.

29th August 1998 – Worsfold plays his 209th and final AFL match.  He spends the next 12 months working as a commentator.

1999 – Worsfold is appointed Assistant Coach at Carlton. 

2002 – Worsfold takes charge of his first match as Eagles Coach.   The side kicks 21 goals in a 19 point win over Fremantle.

7th September 2002 – In his first season as Eagles Coach, Worsfold takes the side to the finals.  Essendon knocks them out.

2004 – Worsfold is inducted in to the West Australia Football Hall of Fame.  

2005 – The Eagles reach the Grand Final falling narrowly short against the Swans.

2006 – In another tight Grand Final against Sydney, West Coast emerge victorious by one point.  Worsfold becomes only the fourth player to Captain and then Coach the same Club to a premiership.

5th September 2013 – Worsfold steps down as Eagles Coach after 142 wins and a winning percentage of 54%.

July 2015 – Worsfold takes on an advisory role with the Adelaide Crows following the death of Phil Walsh.

5th October 2015 – Worsfold appointed Essendon Coach.
