Essendon Football Club director Daryl Jackson has announced his retirement from the Board.

Jackson, who served on the Board for more than 10 years, said the time was right to stand down from an official role with the Club.

“It is time to retire and allow a new Board member to play a key role in advancing the team and club in the years ahead,” Jackson said

“In a voluntary capacity, I have been privileged to serve the Essendon Football Club and its loyal and passionate members as a Director.”

Chairman Paul Little paid tribute to Jackson for his outstanding service to the club.

“Daryl has been an outstanding director for more than 10 years,” Little said.

“The role he played in the design and construction of our state of the art new facility will leave a lasting legacy.”

“On behalf of the Essendon Football Club, I would like to thank Daryl for his tireless work and dedication to the Club and we wish Daryl and his wife Kay all the best for the future.”

Jackson, a renowned architect, said his role designing the True Value Solar Centre was his proudest achievement.

“I am extremely proud of the facility and it is wonderful to see that it is now being enjoyed by the players and coaches, management and staff; and particularly the members who visit.”

“The Club has been through a difficult period but I am confident the work we have done with our new strategic plan will lay the foundations for a successful Essendon Football Club in the future.”
