Marty Gleeson is looking to hit the ground running in 2016 and continue the progress he made this year.

One of only a handful of players to feature in all 23 games this year, Gleeson showed great consistency as he held his spot across the half-back line, gaining great experience playing on some of the best opposition forwards in the game.

However, the young defender refuses to be complacent with his game, seeking to work hard in the pre-season in the areas he has personally identified as important.

“I just want to keep getting through every session and obviously put on a bit of size and get a bit stronger in my frame,” Gleeson said.

“Also hopefully be able to run out games a bit better.”

Despite only having only met new Coach John Worsfold a few weeks ago, Gleeson is excited by the energy he has brought to the team and is eager to get stuck into some serious work.

“I’ve had a chat with [Woosha] and he’s obviously still new and is still really getting to know the boys as well, so he’ll have more for me over time,” said Gleeson

“He’s really excited to get in and said that I just have to keep building and get through sessions week by week.”
