James Kelly and Joe Daniher have tied for second place in Essendon’s Crichton Medal.

The pair finished on 273 votes apiece, just ahead of the fourth placed Brendon Goddard on 269 votes.

Daniher also picked up the Matthew Lloyd Leading Goal Kicker Award (43 goals) ahead of Orazio Fantasia (29 goals).

The key forward averaged two goals a game throughout the season and was kept goal less in just two matches.

The 22 year old now has 70 games under his belt and in 2016 posted career best numbers in several key statistical areas.

Daniher’s best in 2016:

21 disposals, 15 marks, two goals v Melbourne, round 2

Kelly was drafted on to the Essendon list on the eve of the season. 

The three-time premiership winning Cat played 20 games this season, despite his limited preparation.

The 32 year old finished in the top five at the Bombers for disposals, disposal efficiency, marks, tackles and intercept possessions. 

He registered more than 20 possessions in 18 of his 20 games this season.
