One of the most talked about beards in the AFL is in its final days.

Michael Hurley's facial fleece will be removed next week.

Through his work with children’s charity The MAD Foundation, Hurley learnt of five-year-old Rye Johnson's inspiring story and decided he wanted to help.

Rye has cerebral palsy and is in need of a special bed to make sure he can sleep safely at night.

The money raised so far will help pay for the bed but there is still time to donate more funds to help Rye and his family as much as possible.

The Shaver Shop generously donated $10,000 to the cause.
