Essendon has unveiled a new specially recorded theme song for the Bombers VFLW team ahead of its inaugural first match at Windy Hill on Sunday.
The new version of ‘See the Bombers Fly Up’ features female singers and a change in lyrics for the new Essendon women’s team.
“It is great to have a version of our song with female singers and new lyrics ahead of our entry into women’s football,” Rodski said
“I know our players really love the song and are looking forward to running out onto Windy Hill with it playing across the ground.”
“Thank you to the AFL for recording the new version and having it ready in time for our first match.”
“It is going to be an historic day for our club and let’s hope our team gets to sing the song with pride after a big win against Hawthorn on Sunday.”
Essendon’s VFLW season kicks off on Sunday May 6 at 1pm against Hawthorn at Windy Hill.
