A number of Essendon's young stars showed what they have to offer during an intense intra club training session at the club’s High Performance Centre this morning.

The Bombers have this weekend off from the NAB Cup competition with the match simulation in warm and humid conditions a perfect hit out to continue the teams preparation for the start of the home and away season.

Recruit Martin Gleeson, who played against Collingwood last Friday night in round one of the NAB Cup, was very impressive collecting plenty of the ball across the half forward line.

Gleeson showed his class and poise when using the footy managing to slot a few goals from set shots.

Also impressive up forward was first round recruit Joe Daniher who slotted a bag of goals to go with his 12 marks.

Daniher is expected to make his debut in the red and black next weekend against Richmond in Wangaratta and his performance today would have done nothing to hinder his chances.

Dyson Heppell played the majority of the match through the midfield as well as floating across halfback as he racked up the possessions and provided great delivery to key forwards Daniher and Crameri.

Live wire Leroy Jetta was also important in providing quality football into the forward line as his evasive skills were on full display and at their finest.

Once again mature aged recruit Nick Kommer showed he is ready to match it with the big boys in further positive news for the Bombers coaching staff.

Essendon’s next NAB Cup game takes place on Saturday March 2 against Richmond at Wangaratta Showgrounds.
