To celebrate the unveiling of The Hangar, Essendon Football Club has been counting down the 10 best ‘hangars’ ever taken in the red and black.

Scoring a top-three finish is Matthew Lloyd for his mark of the year in 2008, which the legendary forward described as the best mark he ever took.

Just one season after winning the goal of the year, Lloyd took his game literally to another level when launching over a pack against Melbourne to claim an extraordinary grab.

Lloyd – who kicked eight goals on the day – then coolly slotted the set shot for one of the most memorable moments out of his 270 matches for the Bombers.
