Two of Essendon’s young high-end talents are working their way closer to returning to main training.

Third-year utility Nik Cox (four weeks) and top five pick Elijah Tsatas (five weeks) are continuing a steady rehab trajectory as they overcome respective back and knee injuries.

GM of Performance Daniel McPherson says after conservative recovery periods, both Cox and Tsatas are reaching the pointy end of their rehab programs.

“It’s pleasing to have both Nik and Elijah continue their steady recovery from long-term injuries,” McPherson said.

“They’ll continue to gradually build on their fitness and barring any unexpected hiccups, both will be looking to integrate into our main training group over the coming weeks.”

Forward Matt Guelfi has also continued to progress through his rehab program well, with last year’s third place best and fairest slated for round 11 selection availability.
