Essendon veteran Nathan Lovett-Murray has thanked the football community for their support over the last week.

Lovett-Murray, who was taken to hospital following a domestic altercation, returned to the training track this week in good spirits.

“I feel really good. The arm is feeling a lot better and I will be doing some running today, jogging and walking,” Lovett-Murray told BomberTV.

“I will do that, see how we go and maybe play this week or the week after.”

The 30-year-old said he was grateful for all the messages of support he had received.

“It was a scary time but what really got me through was all the support that all the fans, members, family and my football club gave me.”

“It really helped and I want to say a big thank you to all the people that supported me.”

Lovett-Murray said he had spent the days following the incident recovering from his surgery.

“I had surgery, had a couple of stitches put in so it wasn’t too bad.”

“I did lose a lot of blood and I have just been resting up the last few days which has been really good.”

“I had a chat with Doc Reid, he reckons I will probably get the stitches out on Friday and do some jog and walk today then go from there.”
