Finalists for the Essendon Women’s Network’s 2018 Football Woman of the Year Awards have been revealed.

The winners of the prestigious awards will be announced at the Essendon Women's Network Fujitsu General Grand Final Comedy Debate, held from 11:30am to 3:00pm on Thursday, September 27 at Crown Palladium. 

The finalists are as follows:

Emma Kearney - Sport and Recreation Coordinator, The Huddle and AFLW Player, North Melbourne Football Club
Shelley Ware - Television and Radio Presenter, National Indigenous Television

VicHealth Community Award
Michelle Redfern – Director, Advancing Women, Williamstown FC and Chair, Williamstown FC VFLW

Nikki Harwood - Head Coach, East Fremantle Women's Football Club
Robyn Fitall - Secretary and Coach, Hills Rangers Football Club

GO Healthy Emerging Leader Award
Amy Dwyer - Development Officer, AFL, ACT South

Courtney Ugle - Community Engagement Support, Djirra and VFLW Player, Essendon Football Club
Eliza Reilly - Program Assistant, AFL, Gold Coast

The must-attend event during AFL Grand Final week will celebrate the contribution of women in football with a perfect mix of footy and fun.

The Comedy Debate will be moderated by Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann and argue the topic, ‘AFL players can, and should, self-umpire their games’.

All guests will be treated to a two-course lunch accompanied by Wolf Blass wines, Colonial Brewing Co. beers and soft drinks, special live entertainment, an exclusively designed Antler bag filled with gifts and the official after party.

There will also be an outstanding silent and live auction raising important funds for the Essendon Football Club and the Event Charity Partner, Breast Cancer Network Australia – which will receive five per cent of all ticket proceeds.
