Essendon is committed to being a club where the growth and development of their female staff and players, and the industry more broadly is a core function of the organisations operations.

Today, to honour International Women’s Day and celebrate the continuous support of their staff and athletes on their journey to building an organisation that provides equitable opportunities for everyone, the Bombers hosted a panel discussion at their headquarters, The NEC Hangar.

The panel, hosted by Fox Sports presenter Sarah Jones, features Essendon AFLW player Georgia Nanscawen, AFL Senior Coach Brad Scott, and Nayana Bhandari – co-founder of Oorja and a Community Hub leader of Hume.

All AFL + AFLW staff and players saw a discussion which seeked to address the importance of paving a future that provides equal opportunities for women, leading an interactive conversation between staff and employees on the women that inspire them.

All participants brought a photo of the special women in their lives which helped display the importance of female role models.
