Former Essendon star Greg Anderson has been inducted into the South Australian Football Hall of Fame.

Part of an illustrious club that now includes 214 players, coaches, umpires, administrators and media representatives, Anderson was inducted alongside fellow SA greats Peter Motley (Carlton) and Bill Mayman (Sturt Football Club) at Adelaide Oval last night.

Arriving at Essendon in 1988 after a decorated career with Port Adelaide that included a Margarey Medal (1986) and SANFL All-Australian selection (1987), the dashing wingman went on to play 103 games and kick 61 goals across five seasons in the red and black.

Renowned for his skill, toughness, penetrating left foot and blonde locks, the No.11 was named most improved player in 1989, finishing third in the Bombers' best and fairest in 1990 and claiming the best clubman award in 1991.

He was also a part of Essendon's losing Grand Final side in 1990, the same year he earned best-on-ground honours in the Bombers' night premiership triumph over North Melbourne.

Anderson returned to his home state in 1993 to join Adelaide, earning his first AFL All-Australian selection in his maiden season at the Crows before retiring in 1996.

The Bombers wish to congratulate Anderson on his latest honour.
