He’s back! After a long pre-season and a battle with a calf injury, Paul Salmon makes his long-awaited return to AFL football against Carlton tomorrow night. Salmon was this afternoon included in the Bombers’ senior line-up along with first-gamer Andrew Welsh. Scott Lucas returns from injury while Mark Bolton has been recalled. James Hird, Matthew Lloyd and Aaron Henneman couldn’t be considered because of injury while Daniel McAlsiter was omitted.

Salmon admiited to being a little nervous about the prospect of running out on to the MCG tomorrow night. ""Yeah, there are a few butterflies there. But I'm feeling really good about it and can't wait to get out there. It is an important game for us,"" Salmon said.

Salmon said he was a little surprised to move straight back into the senior side. ""Pleasantly surprised but I have been working very hard. My hands are dry from washing Sheeds' car every day for the last two weeks,"" Salmon joked.

And while Salmon makes his return, Andrew Welsh will make his debut. The tough on-baller has impressed in the VFL in recent weeks. He has been named on the bench. Welsh played his under 18 football with the Calder Cannons and he was Essendon's 4th selection at the 2001 draft - number 47 overall.
