On the Ball, a program run by the Bill Hutchison Foundation in conjunction with Netball Victoria and the Essendon Football Club, moved into Phase 2 last week with a visit to St Bernard’s College.

Phase 2 of the program involves the athletes who facilitate the program visiting the schools and the students that participated in Phase 1 of the program. The workshop plan for the return visit consists of small group work with the facilitators and students exploring the issue of being connected.

200 Year 8 students from St Bernard’s College joined Scott Lucas, Henry Slattery, Jason Winderlich, Ricky Dyson and Adam Ramanauskas from Essendon and Shelley O’Donnell and Eloise Southby-Halbish from Netball Victoria to discuss the importance of having healthy inter-personal relationships and goal setting.

Phase 2 of On The Ball will continue until late October, with Phase 3 of the program – a series of community forums involving leading adolescent psychologist A/Professor Michael Carr Gregg – commencing in November.
