Bomberland fans have voted in favour of Dean Solomon keeping the dreadlocks he recently had removed from his head but it was a near thing. Of the 1686 who voted, 901 (53%) said they should have stayed while 785 (47%) said they should have gone. There were a number of comments made on the issue - some in favour and some against while others couldn't care less - as long as he plays good football. Solomon had the dreadlocks removed just prior to last Wednesday's Anzac Day clash with Collingwood. Here are some of the comments voters had to make:
Those in favour:
Di from Somerville says: I think his dreadies looked super cool and was so disappointed that I only got to see them in 3 matches - as I did not go to Sydney. Grow them back Solly, they were sensational.
Melissa from Grovedale,Geelong says: He looked so radical with his locks he should have kept them as the suited him and they were different.
Ashlee Paxton from Melbourne says: Solly still looks hot without his dredlocks but he looked even hotter with them. He should have kept them.
Those against:
Gino Liparota from says: The loss of the dreadlocks signifies a ""back to business "" attitude. Save these cosmetic crazes for the pre-season and focus on winning premierships.
Des from WA says: Who really cares how he has his hair? (maybe some of the female fans)I just like the way he plays the game.
Other comments:
Nigel Leitch from Horsham says: The timing of Dean Solomons haircut was very appropriate - Anzac Day a day of respect. He can do whatever he wants with his hair as long as he plays great football. First it was the afro, then the dreadlocks now the crewcut, but the one constant has been his great football.
Brett Crabtree from Adelaide says: Dean Solomon looks tough whether he has the dredlocks or not. He and Dean Wallis are the most intimidating players in the league and the opposition are scared dreadlocks or not! Great game on ANZAC day from Dean - back to his uncompromising best.
