Dual premiership player Joe Misiti is a big chance to only miss one game. He had scans on his foot yesterday which ruled out any bone damage. Misiti was carried from the ground by the Essendon medical staff in the first quarter of the match against St.Kilda and early reports suggested the injury would end his season. “The good news is Joe should only miss one to two weeks. He is walking around without any problems and he spent time in the pool yesterday to help maintain his aerobic fitness,” fitness coach John Quinn said.

Rising star Jordan Bannister had surgery today on his broken collarbone. Bannister sustained the injury in the second quarter of the Bendigo Bombers match on Sunday. The former Calder Cannons player is likely to miss six to eight weeks. “Unfortunately for Jordan it looks like the injury could end his season. It is a blow for the him and the club because he has been in really good form for the VFL and was pushing up for senior selection again.”

Bannister has not had a good run with injuries late in the season. In 2002 his season was cut short when he badly injured his ankle.

Essendon will have an intense training session tomorrow afternoon at Windy Hill in preparation for the match against Adelaide. The game has been dubbed as a mini final for the club who is still sitting just outside the top eight. The Bombers’ have not beaten the Crows at AAMI Stadium since round 10 1999.
