Amid all the injuries and gloom this season emerged a real find with Leroy Jetta playing 18 games after just four in his debut season.

It seems the fans were impressed too with the 20-year-old’s report card rating increasing to 5.87/10 up from 4.43/10 in 2007.

The speedy small forward was taken by the Bombers with pick 18 in 2006 and the fans have enjoyed the excitement he brings to the team but want to see him kick the goal when the opportunity is there.

Here are some of the fans’ comments about Leroy’s 2008 season.

Leonard Clark - Speed, balance and evasive skills are exceptional, but are not shown often enough and consequently drifts in and out of games. Needs to perform for 100 minutes not five minute cameos.

Amanda Scott - Couple of times during the season the ball should have been dished off to someone for help instead of been pinned, however, you’re gonna be brilliant champ.

Sophie Coppenhall - Leroy Jetta - Fantastic player, and AWESOME speed! Never seen a player so fast on the field! He's kicked some great goals too this year, and hope he doesn't lose that next year!

Robert Aynsley - Unlucky to be plagued with injury early in the season. Showing signs of potential but needs to put in a lot of work in the gym in the off-season.

Stephane Millien - When the ball is in Leroy's hands he looks a promising type. Very unselfish player, but should back himself in when scoring opportunities present. Would love to see him get more possessions and become the damaging player we all know he can be.

Brad Jones - Back yourself to kick the goal more often. Keep up the chasing and the tackling.

Tim Chapman - Leroy got 18 games under his belt which was good. He is very dangerous in front of goal, if he can get his hands on it a bit more he will be one of the premier crumbers in the competition.

Jake Schembri - I doubted him but he proved me wrong showing great skill and consistency and was a valued player for EFC in 08. Maybe didn’t get many possessions, but did a lot of things that made a difference on the ground.

Aaron Goring - Good year happy with him on list.

Stephen Smith - Started slowly but finished very strong showing a lot of promise. Jetta will be one to watch in the next few years that’s for sure with the excitement he gives the crowd.

Rachelle Bransgrove - Unfortunate to get injured right when he was playing some excellent footy. Looking forward to watching him terrorise opposition defences next season!

Shirley Price - Well done Leroy and hopefully you will have an even better year in 2009 and possibly injury free. Keep up the good work.

Sasha Andelkovic - Showed some really good signs during the season just has to be more consistent and back his ability more with ball.

Nassim Merheb - If he gets his hand on the ball more often he will be a dangerous player.
