Essendon fans were glowing in their praise of Dustin Fletcher’s 2005 season, believing he was again one of the Bombers most valuable players. Impressed with his consistent form they believe he remains the corner stone of the side holding the backline together. The only disappointment from fans was the Essendon veteran missing out on All-Australian selection.

What some of the Essendon fan’s had to say:

""Best full back going around. Continues to be one of Essendon’s best and most consistent performer,"" Carl Farriciello

""I believe Dustin was one of Essendon’s most valuable players this year. Consistent, strong and extremely controlled - Sheedy asked of him and he delivered every time - it would have been a sad year for Essendon without him - truly brilliant!"" Amanda-Lee Zahra

""Much more disciplined year from Dustin and had a great year at full back. He the leader of the backline now and a critical component of the teams central spine,"" Tony Cosentino

""Just keeps on giving. I have no doubt he has been the best full back for the last decade. I hope he can continue for the next couple of years,"" Russell Sleep

""Great player. Does it week in week out against a diverse range of quality opponents. Without doubt the bombers best ever full back if not the best ever defender. Sorely missed when absent from team,"" William McIntosh

""Another good year from Fletch. Reliable as ever. Hopefully we can preserve him from injuries for several more seasons. More of the same thanks Fletch & well played for the Aussies,"" Alan Enno
