BENDIGO BOMBERS DO IT EASILY
The Bendigo Bombers chalked up their second win of the pre-season today, scoring a comfortable 57-point win over Werribee at Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo. The Bombers led at every change but it was a seven goal third term that ended any hopes of a Werribee revival. There were some encouraging signs for the Bombers, none more so than the performance of young ruckman Tristan cartledge who kicked two goals and got plenty of the ball.

The Bombers had a number of other good performers. Ted Richards kicked three goals at full forward. He marked very strongly but his return could have been much better had he kicked straight. Rookie Adrian Wilson showed he just might be a player of the future running hard off half back and giving the team a real physical presence.
Mark Bolton also did extremely well - his experience a telling factor against the younger Werribee players. Ken Hall and Cory McGrath were also solid contributors along with Jobe Watson who spent some time across half back. Today's performance augurs well for the Bendigo Bombers and it was appreciated by the local supporters who have seen the Bendigo Diggers go winless for the past two years.
Results during the pre-season often bear little resemblance to those that follow when the real stuff begins. However most Essendon fans believe there is a lot of hard work ahead of the players and coaches based on what has transpired to this stage of the 2003 pre-season. The Bombers first round exit from the Wizard Cup at the hands of the Kangaroos followed by a loss to St Kilda have some Essendon fans concerned, according to a recent BomberLand poll.
