Essendon is set to regain Zach Merrett and Jake Stringer on Anzac Day, with the star duo named in the Bombers' 22.

The pair got through main training on Saturday, with senior coach Ben Rutten revealing prior to the session that they would be given every chance to prove their availability for Monday's blockbuster.

Kaine Baldwin, who starred with five goals in the VFL on Sunday, has earned a recall for his second AFL game, while Andrew Phillips (hamstring) and omitted trio Devon Smith, Nick Hind and Tom Cutler (last week's medical sub) make way.

Should Merrett line up on Anzac Day, it will mark a remarkable recovery for the dual Crichton medallist, who had surgery on a syndesmosis injury just under a month ago.

The Bombers will name their medical sub one hour before the 3:20pm bounce on Monday. Click here for a match-day guide.
