Improving Bomber defender, Henry Slattery, will not look back on his 50th game fondly after Essendon suffered a big loss to Adelaide.
Speaking on Bomber.tv today the Gary O'Donnell look-a-like said the team threw in the towel too quickly.
“It was disappointing. We started off pretty well, hung with them, it was just our intensity later in the game when things weren’t going our way, we gave up a bit too easily I think,”Slattery said.
The 21-year-old said that one positive from the game was that Paddy Ryder showed promise in front of goals.
“He’s good in the ruck, he’s good down back, and Knights put him up forward and he definitely showed some good signs there,” he said.
Slattery said his confidence as an AFL player is growing by the week.
""Once you get a little bit of confidence, you build on that and start to develop a bit of a taste for it,” he said.
“I’m put on a dangerous player and am told to just basically beat them.”
