Essendon Coach James Hird is ready to coach the side tomorrow night against North Melbourne.

Hird spent Monday night in hospital after a falling off his bike on his way home from the club.

But he’s made a strong recovery, and will be fit to fulfill his normal duties tomorrow night.

“I feel good and I’m ready to coach tomorrow night,” he said.

The incident caused a minor disruption to the Coach’s preparation, but Hird is confident he’s in good shape to guide the team.

“It just meant that yesterday was a busier day in terms of watching a lot of North Melbourne footage,” he said.

“Normally you prepare two weeks out from teams.  Tuesday was a bit of a different day.  I didn’t do as much work as I would have liked but other than that it’s been pretty normal.

“It was an unfortunate incident.  It was a bit scary at the time but it’s time to move on and get on with footy.”
