Essendon full back Dustin Fletcher will face the AFL tribunal tomorrow night after being cited on video evidence for allegedly striking Melbourne's Nathan Brown in the first quarter of last Friday night's match at Colonial Stadium. Umpire Martin Ellis laid the charge late this afternoon. With Mark Mercuri already sidelined through injury, the loss of Fletcher would be a bitter blow for the Bombers who are trying to build some momentum in the second half of the season.

In other news, Essendon mid-fielder Chris Heffernan has signed a new three-year deal with the Bombers. Heffernan, 23, was one of the stars in Essendon's win over Melbourne last Friday night.
