Dustin Fletcher, Mark Mercuri and Sean Wellman are all expected to be fit to take on Fremantle at Subiaco next Sunday. Mercuri and Fletcher have both had minor knee problems while Wellman had surgery to repair a badly dislocated finger. It is a pleasant position for the Essendon match committee to be in following the club's resounding win over Collingwood on Anzac Day. But just who will be squeezed out of the side?

In other injury news, Cory McGrath is also available to play this weekend after he missed the last VFL match because of a calf injury. There is also good news for rookie Courtney Johns who might be only a couple of weeks away from playing. Johns was at one stage told he would never play again because of a rare hip injury. But the work of Essendon's fitness staff looks to working and he will be a very useful addition to the Bendigo Bombers.

Aaron Henneman is still five weeks away from playing after undergoing groin surgery and Ben Haynes won't be seen for another nine weeks as he recovers from a serious shoulder injury. Sam Hunt's troublesome ankle has him two weeks away from playing. Toby McGrath will be sidelined for the same period of time as he recovers from arthroscopic surgery.

Adam Ramanauskas' condition is being assessed - the best-case scenario will see him back in three weeks.
