Getting to and into the game:

  • Gates will open at 1:00pm for an 2:10pm bounce.
  • Parking is available in the streets surrounding ETU Stadium, please be sure to check any council signage for restrictions.
  • Entry to ETU Stadium will be via two gates along Williamstown Road and then a third gate on Ingles Street. Tickets will also be available to purchase on the day, subject to availability, from the ticket window located at the Williamstown Road entry.

What’s On:

  • Our first AFLW Dreamtime game is proudly presented by our game day partner Coles and hosted by Jaynaya Winmar.
  • Join us for an official Welcome To Country by Boon Wurrung Custodian and Senior Elder N’arwee’t Aunty Carolyn Briggs at 2:06pm.
  • The Game Ball will be presented on behalf of Coles to the umpires by Deanne Rioli.
  • Players from both teams will come together before the bounce for a special gift exchange with Aunty Pam Pedersen AO.
    • The Essendon Football Club will gift a beautiful basket created by Yorta Yorta woman Samantha Jetta.  Samantha uses tradition weaving practices to create contemporary pieces.
    • The Richmond Football Club gifts two Michelle Kerrin (Arrernte/Luritja woman) artworks which depict stories which are part of a much larger story. They explore the feelings of home, her connections to Culture, language, and community. It explores her relationship with her own Country, and with her own people.
    • Presented by Coles as part of their Mushroom partnership and First Nations Pathway Program, talented Indigenous artist, Bumpy will be performing at 1:40pm so be sure to arrive early. The Noongar woman and Naarm artist’s stirring voice is transportive, arresting listeners with complex, intimate and multi-faceted truths of loss, joy and connection.

What are we wearing?

  • The Essendon Football Club is proud to unveil its inaugural AFLW Indigenous guernsey, designed by two students from Thornbury Primary School. To learn more about the design and story behind it please click here.
  • On behalf of Coles, both designers, Momo and Jackie, will run out in the guernsey with the team on Sunday, with their classmates forming the guard of honour.

Partners and Activations:

  • Keep an eye out for the team from Toyota Forklifts, who will have some very calming giveaways throughout the game.
  • You can also grab yourself a 2022 AFLW team poster, thanks to Palo Alto Networks, by visiting the membership and merchandise marquee.
  • Our first 10x AFLW members to our Membership Marquee will receive a Fujitsu Comfort Pack.
  • Elders and community representatives will take part and lead a Little Long Walk at half-time around the oval to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
  • At three quarter time in partnership with Coles, you can witness a skills showcase from our First Nations Women’s Pathway participants.
  • Macca’s Kick 2 Kick will be back post game on Sunday afternoon. Make sure you bring your footy to the game to take part!

Membership:

  • Your Mobile Membership via the Essendon App is your ticket to the game. All the information you need to access your Mobile Membership can be found here.
  • Members who have redeemed a ticket via Ticketmaster using their membership must use their Ticketmaster issued ticket to enter the venue. If you have any issues with your ticket, please see the membership team outside the ground near the pedestrian crossing on Williamstown Road.
  • Our Member Services team will be located inside the main entry gate of the stadium at the Williamstown Road end of the ground. If you are an adult AFLW member wanting to collect your Foundation Member Picnic Rug, please remember to bring your coupon from your member pack to redeem.
  • All access for this game is general admission.
  • The EFC Member Zone is located at the Williamstown Road end of the ground, exclusively for our AFLW members. Enjoy a spot on the hill with umbrella coverage and beanbags a plenty. Simply show your AFLW mobile membership card to enter the zone.
