Essendon held the second Melbourne Aiport EDFL/RDFL Coaching Master Class last week to assist junior coaches in the north west region of Melbourne.

The program saw 80 coaches attend the two one hour sessions, which will in turn impact and reach over 2500 kids in the region.

Former Essendon player and current recruiter Robert Forster-Knight presented at the sessions alongside Mervyn Keane, who is also part of the Bombers recruiting team.

Young Bomber Kyle Hardingham was also involved in the program explaining his rise through the junior ranks into the AFL program.

The program took coaches through what recruiters are looking for in a player and the role of the junior coach in developing younger players.

Forster-Knight and Keane went through athlete development, fundamental skills of the game, teaching skills, learning abilities and examples of training sessions.

Essendon Football Club is proud to continue its partnership with the Essendon District Football League and Riddles District Football League.
