Two of Essendon's brightest AFLW stars have been acknowledged for their superb seasons with selection in the 2022 All-Australian squad.

Dons midfielder Madison Prespakis and co-captain Bonnie Toogood earned a place in the 42-person squad, with Essendon being the only season seven expansion club to have players chosen.

Prespakis solidified her status as one of the AFLW's best, averaging a career-high 23.7 disposals & 4.6 clearances, noted by her round seven performance against Geelong, where Prespakis gathered 37 disposals, the second most in AFLW history.

Prespakis also finished fourth overall in the AFLW Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year.

Toogood lead from the front all year, finishing with seven goals this season, averaging 13.3 disposals, 3.5 marks, 3.2 tackles, 3.8 score involvements, 5.5 ground ball gets, and 2.3 inside 50s per game.

A final team of 21 players including a captain and vice-captain will be announced at the W Awards, held on Tuesday, November 22.
