Joel Reynolds further enhanced his reputation as a sprinter by winning the 70m novice final at the Ringwood Gift last weekend. Reynolds ran exceptionally well at the Rye Gift two weekends ago and proved the effort was no fluke with another blistering performance. He backed up his Novice win by finishing second in the open 70m. Reynolds competed with teammates Cory McGrath, Darren Walsh and Jordan Bannister at the event at Jubilee Park, Ringwood.

Fitness coach John Quinn has been coaching the running group for the past two months and was delighted to see the results of the player's hard work . ""The running group has been training once a week and really focussing on improving their speed over short distances. All of the players have performed remarkably well in the Rye Gift and now the Ringwood Gift, particularly Joel (Reynolds). He ran very well at Rye last weekend and even better yesterday at Ringwood. He looked very good out on the track,"" Quinn said.

First year player Walsh, also performed well at the meet, making the final of the 70m novice race. Bannister also ran solidly all day and made the final of the Open 100m handicap, however found his handicap too hard to overcome and failed to finish in a top three position. Sean Wellman and Adam Ramanauskas missed the Ringwood Gift on Sunday, but will compete at the Wangaratta Gift next weekend.
