Essendon forward Jake Stringer will not travel to the Gold Coast after suffering hamstring tightness following training yesterday.

Stringer felt tightness at the end of Essendon’s main training session and an MRI today confirmed a hamstring strain. Stringer will be on a modified program with the expectation that he starts running in the coming days with a robust program to ensure a strong return.

Essendon will take a squad of 34 players to the Gold Coast to face the SUNS tomorrow in the club’s first practice match.
