""We have to look at that. We have to make sure (Joe) Misiti, (Marc) Bullen and (David) Hille to a certain extent are right. They are not giving us that sort of freshness in the mid-field and that momentum that we need.""
Harvey said another area of concern is the current form of the midfield. He said the match committee has attempted to introduce new players into the centre this season, but it is not paying dividends.
""We are starting to become concerned in the midfield. We are just starting to not be able to win enough of the contest and appear to be getting out run at the moment. We just have to manufacture different players through that particular part of the game and look at younger players to fill that role even if it is only for 10 minutes a quarter,"" Harvey said.
On a positive note, Harvey said there is still a number of players that can be used in the middle and who have the ability to make an impact. He thought McPhee did a good job in the second half when moved on the ball.
""We might look at putting Solomon on a half-back flank and maybe Bolton on the ball. So we have a number of options that we can change the mix there. We have to get back to match selection and hopefully get the right balance.""
Mark and Jason Johnson both uncharacteristically had quiet games against Melbourne last weekend. Neither had a real impact and collected just 21 possessions between them. ""Mark and Jason probably haven’t had as good as years as the past few years. But they are determined players and they will rebound from that – they have a lot of pride. We are just not getting enough out of them and they are not winning enough of the contested ball for us.
""We might have to put Mark Johnson back to the backline to freshen him up a little bit and get him back running in that position. Jason is playing with a minor injury at the moment, so that might have affected his game after half-time,"" he said.
