Skipper Zach Merrett stood tall, winning the Yiooken Award in Round 10's Dreamtime clash with Richmond.

Merrett's impact was tremendous, with the captain acquiring 39 disposals, eight marks and seven tackles. 

His impact was also felt in the contest and on the score board, with the midfielder collecting 12 contested possessions and nine score involvements.

Defender Jordan Ridley did not miss a beat in his return, also playing a pivotal role in the win, collecting 32 disposals, 14 marks and 11 contested possessions. 

Mason Redman and late game hero Sam Durham rounded out the coaches votes for Essendon, with each player polling one vote apiece.

They collected 27 and 21 disposals respectively.
