Just one month and surgery later, Jayden Laverde made his return, proving to be a key figure in the Bombers 50-point win on Saturday night.

In his returning game, the 26-year-old expressed his optimism to be back with the team and part of the flying win.

“I felt great. It was great to be out there again with the boys and get back on the winning list,” Laverde said.

“We wanted to make sure we got what we deserved.”

However, the team knew it was going to be no easy feat and were determined to stay focused and aligned with the game plan.

“We knew they were going to come out firing after last week and it’s been key knowledge they were going to come out strong,” he said.

“It was great for the boys to tough it out.”

After an extensive injury list for the Bombers, he’s been a significant re-addition and it’s only climbing.

The upcoming return of key forward Peter Wright is looking likely, and the successful VFL return of utility Nik Cox over the weekend was another highlight.

The impressive win has pushed the Bombers to 7th and they'll be looking to continue to build momentum in next week’s clash against North Melbourne.
