VFL Senior Coach Leigh Tudor will depart Essendon following the conclusion of the 2023 AFL and VFL seasons.

Tudor joined Essendon in 2019 after a seven-year stint as an assistant coach at North Melbourne and was the club’s first full-time VFL Senior Coach in 2023.

Essendon’s VFL team finished 17th on the ladder with five wins.

General Manager of Performance, Daniel McPherson thanked Leigh for his contribution to Essendon.

“'Lurka' (Leigh) has brought great coaching experience to Essendon at a time when the club has had an increased focus on development. With more than 15 years coaching experience across four clubs, Leigh’s insight and experience has been valuable to our VFL program,” McPherson said.

“We thank Lurka for his coaching of our young developing players and our next generation of coaches and wish him all the best for the future.”

The football coaching structure under AFL senior coach Brad Scott will be finalised shortly.
