Essendon's pre-season fixtures have been confirmed ahead of the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The Bombers will play St Kilda in a match simulation at RSEA Park on Friday, February 23 at 2:00pm AEDT, before rounding out their pre-season with an AFL Community Series Game against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Friday, March 1 at 5.10pm AEDT.

Both matches will be livestreamed on Kayo, with Essendon members and kids able to attend matches for free.

Clubs will also have the opportunity to participate in an optional match simulation training session at a date determined by the Clubs prior to the AFL Community Series Matches.

AFL Community Series Matches will take on the following format:

  • Four quarters of 20 mins plus time on (as per AFL Premiership Season)
  • Squad of 30 players, eight interchange and four Emergencies. Minimum of four players on the Interchange Bench during the match at any time.
  • No interchange Cap.
  • Full panel of umpires appointed by the AFL.
  • All matches will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and KAYO and fully ticketed for fans to attend.

Tickets for the AFL Community Series will go on sale in February with further information to be communicated in late January.
