Essendon champion James Hird will make a much anticipated return to AFL this Monday when he pulls on the boots and hits the training track with his former team at Windy Hill during the club’s Queen’s Birthday training session. 
 
Hird, the captain of the 2000 Premiership team, will return to his old training ground to help launch the 10-year anniversary celebrations of the 2000 Premiership which will include the 2000 Premiership celebration (with special tribute to Lloyd and Lucas) at Palladium at Crown on Sunday, 11 July. 
 
The 'light' open training session kicks off at 10.30am on Monday 14 June (Queen’s birthday public holiday) and will include a training session, BBQ and signing session.
 
The Bomber shop will also offer supporters 10% off storewide so make sure you get there early to snap up a bargain.
 
The club’s Hall of Fame and membership office will also be open on the day.
