Kyle Langford is pushing closer to a return for the Bombers, looking to be available for the Anzac Day clash with Collingwood next week.

The forward suffered a hamstring injury against the Hawks in the season opener but has recovered well and will be in the frame for selection in the round seven blockbuster after integrating into main training this week.

The return of Nik Cox has been held up by a slight calf niggle after experiencing some soreness at training last week – the utility was initially looking to return to play this weekend but is now expected to miss the next 1-2 weeks.

Matt Guelfi is progressing well in his rehab from a hamstring strain and is looking to return in 3-4 weeks, with the same timeline expected for first-year defender Angus Clarke in his recovery from a broken collarbone.

Peter Wright made a successful return from an ankle strain via the VFL squad’s practice match with Box Hill on Saturday, playing out the modified 60-minute match and slotting three goals up forward.

As reported by the Club on Monday, ruck Nick Bryan will miss the remainder of 2025 after rupturing his ACL in the Gather Round win over Melbourne.

Following scans which revealed the extent of his injury, the 23-year-old has since consulted a surgeon and will undergo surgery next week.
