Essendon are expected to regain Kyle Langford for Friday’s enormous Anzac Day clash with Collingwood.

The 28-year-old has trained fully in the past week since recovering from a hamstring strain sustained back in round one and is expected to reclaim his place in the line-up at the MCG.

Langford’s potential inclusion adds a key presence to the side’s forward half in supporting Peter Wright, who’s fresh off a six-goal haul on his AFL return last week.

Xavier Duursma should also be available for selection this week after receiving a heavy hit to the abdominal region during the final term of the round six win over West Coast last Friday.

Duursma was sent to hospital post-game as a precaution, however was given the all-clear shortly after and returned to the team hotel later that night – he is expected to play on Anzac Day.

Matt Guelfi and Jye Caldwell are also approaching a return to play in the next two weeks, both closer to training fully after respective hamstring strains earlier in the season.

As reported on Sunday afternoon, Sam Draper will undergo surgery early this week to repair a ruptured Achilles after sustaining the injury late in the Eagles clash.

The Club will have a clearer idea on the ruck’s timeframe to return once he gets through his surgery.
