Captain Zach Merrett has earned maximum coaches’ votes for his standout performance in Essendon’s Round 8 win over North Melbourne.

The skipper was instrumental in the midfield, finishing with 35 disposals, 14 contested possessions, five clearances and nine score involvements. His work rate and composure under pressure helped set the tone for the Bombers throughout the contest.

Forward Archie Perkins continued his strong start to the season, kicking three goals from 15 disposals and adding six score involvements to his name. His creativity and efficiency inside 50 earned him four votes from the coaches.

Also receiving four votes was hard-nosed midfielder Sam Durham, whose relentless effort and contested work proved vital. Durham gathered 25 disposals, 10 contested possessions and six score involvements in another complete performance.
