Essendon will be without Ben Hobbs and Nate Caddy for this week’s clash with GWS at Marvel Stadium.
Hobbs has been ruled out for Thursday’s game due to a groin injury, while Caddy has pulled up sore from the Richmond game and won’t line up against the Giants given the short turnaround between games - both are expected to be available for selection next week.
As reported over the weekend, Will Setterfield will miss the rest of the season due to a Lisfranc foot injury which requires surgery, while Nic Martin will undergo a knee reconstruction next week after tearing his ACL against the Tigers, also ending his season prematurely.
Mason Redman pulled up well in his return game from a hamstring injury, while Jayden Nguyen also made a successful return from injury via the VFL last week, playing three quarters of game time against Box Hill.
