Essendon and Carlton have had many fierce battles on the football field in recent years. And that rivalry will be transferred to the cricket arena on November 26th. The Bombers and the Blues will face off in a 20-over game at The Dome on Wednesday, November 26th. The match will be played during the tea break of a legends game being played at the venue to commemorate the 1986 tied test between Australia and India. Entry is just $2 with money raised going to the MS Society.

The Essendon team is yet to be named but wily leg-spinner Dean Solomon and hard-hitting opening batsman Joe Misiti are both expected to be named in the Bombers squad. Essendon assistant coach and former district cricketer with Essendon - Robert Shaw - is also expected to turn out. The day should be a lot of fun so Essendon fans are asked to turn up, support the boys and make a donation to a very worthy cause.

The TXU Heroes and Legends match commences at 3pm. The Australian team fetaures names such as David Boon, Greg Matthews and Ray Bright. The International XI includes the great Bishen Bedi and Waqar Younis among others.
