The Essendon Football Club will be running their first Next Generation Academy (NGA) Talent ID event at the NEC Hangar on Thursday 26 February.
The NGA program is a joint initiative between the AFL and Clubs aimed to attract and retain the future talent of the game, while growing participation in the under-represented segments of the community.
The program is on the lookout for participants to join Essendon’s NGA to represent the Club at the NGA Games happening during the Term 1 school holidays.
Participants can expect a variety of fundamental skill rotations and small sided games to allow each player to learn, develop and highlight their skills.
The session is open to both male and female participants born in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Players must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and/or meet the AFL NGA Culturally Diverse criteria, whereby a player or at least one parent is born from an African, Asian, Pasifika or Central/South America country.
