Essendon greats and influential club legends were celebrated in a special pre-game moment at the MCG, with the Dutton One Motorcade opening Round One.
Taking a lap of the ground ahead of the start of the match, past champions and key figures were recognised for their lasting contribution to the red and black, cheered on by the Bomber faithful.
The motorcade featured a mix of club legends and family representatives, highlighting the club's most recent Hall of Fame inductees.
Dual premiership coach Mark ‘Bomber’ Thompson, Essendon games record holder Dustin Fletcher, Brownlow medallist Gavin Wanganeen and 2000 premiership player Jason Johnson were among those involved, alongside Barry Capuano, John Birt and Darren Bewick.
The motorcade also honoured several significant Essendon figures through family representation. Frank Maher was represented by Ross and Nick Schoeffel, Dr Bruce Reid by his son Woody, and Bill Brittingham by his son Terry.
Neale Daniher was recognised through his daughter Bec and his granddaughters, continuing their connection to the club and football community.
The Dutton One Motorcade was a great tribute to those who have shaped Essendon’s story, highlighting generations of Bombers in a fitting start to the 2026 season.
