Essendon VFL has bounced back to record a dominant 51-point road win against GWS on Sunday afternoon.

Despite trailing by under a kick at the main break, the Bombers rebounded from their recent second-half fadeouts to slam on seven unanswered majors in the third term, helping set up a rampant 11-goal-to-two half of footy.

GWS wasted some early opportunities in the first quarter to come in with 1.8 to their name at the first change, allowing an opening which the Dons capitalised on after a back-and-forth second quarter.

It was one-way traffic coming back from the sheds - given the Bombers' recent slumps in third terms, this week was a massive step forward.

Several Dons stood out, with Kayle Gerreyn (21 disposals, 11 marks) rock solid down back, while Jade Gresham and Huss El Achkar combined for seven goals.

Harry Jones was dynamic with 18 touches and two goals, and Elijah Tsatas racked up 34 disposals through the middle in addition to a clever early goal.

Will Setterfield continued his consistent run with 26 touches and five tackles.

From the VFL-listed brigade, Jaxon Binns kept up his terrific string of performances with another 29 disposals (12 contested), with Jared Eckersley, Jackson Hately, Kristian Ferronato and Tyler Sellers all solid.

Ben McKay finished with 15 touches and five marks on the last line, while Vigo Visentini made a successful return from injury.

Liam McMahon went down in the third term with a lower leg injury which will be assessed in the coming days.

The Dons have a VFL bye this week.
