A State Funeral to honour the life of Neale Daniher AO will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 10 at the MCG.

Neale was named the Victorian of the Year in 2019 and the Australian of the Year in 2025, in recognition of his extraordinary contributions in leading the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

He was an inspiration to millions of Australians and left an enduring legacy in football and MND research.

The State Funeral Service will be open to the public, and for those unable to attend, the Service will be live streamed.

Details on how to attend or view the livestream will be shared when available, with the most up to date information available at vic.gov.au/Neale-Daniher.

Note: Essendon will be wearing black armbands against the Eagles on Sunday, and will pay tribute to Neale ahead of the annual King's Birthday Eve clash.

Neale's signature rally cry, Play On, is louder now more than ever. Help us show support for Neale and FightMND.

Be in your seats by 7:10pm as we turn the lights off for an interactive light show as we Play On, for Neale.

Big Freeze 12 beanies will be for sale around the stadium, or you can grab a Digital Beanie at bigfreeze.com.au - $25, tax deductible donation, you can personalise it and share it on your socials
