A bunch of former Essendon stars will be putting the boots back on this Sunday as the Bluestar Bombers and Envirolinx Dons face off in the annual EFC Legends Game.
Brought to you by Maison Nord and Premier Traditional as this year’s matchday partners, a group of ex-Dons will be among the squads for the Marvel Stadium curtain raiser, taking place at 12:35pm AEST ahead of the Bombers’ round 17 clash against the Saints.
Cale Hooker, Adam McPhee, Gary Moorcroft, Angus Monfries, Tom Bellchambers, Shaun McKernan, Michael Hartley and Kyle Reimers make up the eight familiar faces who’ll be joined by members of the Club’s staff and corporate partners in the 45-minute spectacle. The game will consist of four 10-minute quarters and wrap up at 1:35pm.
Club legends Mark Harvey and Simon Madden will coach the respective sides, with Dustin Fletcher taking on running duties and Adam Ramanauskas to MC the game.
Gate 8 will be open to the public from 12:15pm to watch the Legends Game, with the Dons’ fixture against St Kilda set to get underway from 3:15pm.
