Essendon has named its extended squad for Sunday's clash against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.

Key big man Peter Wright is a chance to return from his knee injury after getting through training well on Thursday, while Max Kondogiannis is also gunning for a call-up after a terrific 27-disposal effort off half back in the VFL last week.

Last week's emergency Saad El-Hawli and tall Nik Cox (fresh off 15 disposals, nine marks and two goals up forward in the VFL) are also in the equation among the 26-man squad.

Small forward Huss El Achkar has been omitted this week.

The Bombers and Saints go head-to-head from 3:15pm AEST on Sunday.
