Essendon forward Nate Caddy is well and at home after being taken to hospital for precautionary assessment during Sunday’s match against the GIANTS at Marvel Stadium.

Caddy experienced an elevated heart rate in the opening quarter and was assessed by club doctors in the rooms before the decision was made to send him to hospital for further tests.

He was given the all clear and discharged last night.

“There was some concern in the first quarter when Nate’s heart rate became elevated. He was removed from the game, and our medical team assessed him at the ground before sending him to hospital for further assessment. He was discharged last night and is back at home."

"He is expected to be able to train and play without concern this week,” said Dan McPherson, Essendon General Manager of Football.
