Fast becoming household names among the Bomber faithful, Nate Caddy and Archie Roberts have been recognised with selection in the AFLPA’s Intrepid 22Under22 team.
Caddy has earned his second selection in the side, named in the forward line, while Roberts has received his first 22Under22 honour and features on the interchange.
The 22Under22 team is a fan-voted concept recognising the best 22 players aged 22 and under across the entirety of the season, including Grand Final day.
To be eligible for the initial squad of 40, players are required to feature in at least 50 per cent of the home and away season, equating to 12 matches.
Amid career-best seasons, Caddy and Roberts have continued to establish themselves as mainstays in Essendon’s AFL side.
Caddy has booted a career-high 40 goals to date, exactly doubling his tally of 20 from last season.
The key forward has continued his emergence as one of the competition’s most exciting young talents, building on his breakout 2025 campaign with another step forward this season, tying himself to the Bombers until 2031 in a massive boost for the Club.
Roberts has also elevated his game in 2026, averaging a career-high 28.2 disposals, up from 24.5 per game in 2025.
The 20-year-old has twice collected a career-best 42 disposals in games this season, establishing himself as an important part of the Bombers’ defensive unit.
Their selections cap off impressive individual campaigns for the youngsters, with both continuing to emerge as key pieces of Essendon’s future.
