Maddison Gay has taken out the AFLW Virgin Australia Mark of the Week for Round one after her huge contested grab against Brisbane.

The Essendon vice-captain rose above the pack at Windy Hill from the Bombers’ season opener, earning a nomination among the competition’s best marks before being crowned the Round one winner.
